What We Do

As members of the Mounted Volunteer Patrol, one of our most important goals is to improve the quality of the natural and recreational experience of visitors. In other words, we are here for you to help insure a safe and enjoyable visit, and provide assistance when requested or necessary.

At its most basic, an MVP volunteer has a responsibility to schedule a minimum of eight hours of patrol each month. During any given patrol, we may be called upon to perform a wide variety of duties; from supplying directions and offering maps and information, to giving basic first aid, to encouraging or exacting compliance with the parks' rules and regulations — even contacting and coordinating the resources needed to respond to emergency situations that may arise.
