New unit name: Mounted Horse Patrol

The MVP/MHP program and all other volunteer programs were shut down in March 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.  While other volunteer programs have returned, the MVP/MHP program will not return for the foreseeable future as key staff personnel have moved away or retired from the park service.

Other volunteer opportunities are available. You can email samo_volunteer@nps.gov or call the volunteer team at (805) 370-2301.

Welcome to samo-mvp.org, the website for the Mounted Horse Patrol. Over time, all references to MVP will be changed to MHP, including the website address samo-mhp.org, but the transition may take some time.  

You may find that your browser's "back" button will not work on some screens, but you can always click on the "Members Home" button on the right to return to the member's page.
